Why Alta/Snowbird?
Alta/Snowbird is the promised land for powder skiing junkies thanks to its legendary light snow quality that falls at a whopping average of 545 inches per year! The resort offers the unique situation of a skiers only resort (Alta) that is linked to a resort for both skiers and snowboarders (Snowbird) with connecting lifts and the same ski pass. The terrain has a little something for everyone, including beginner and intermediate slopes. The ski areas are easily accessible from Salt Lake City International Airport, and while there are a few accommodations options in Little Cottonwood Canyon, most visitors choose to stay in Park City and commute, or at the base of the canyon depending on their interests. Alta/Snowbird is one of our staff favorites and will surely become one of yours as well!
