International team travel that changes more than your game

Real competition abroad, real cultural immersion and the kind of team chemistry a preseason can’t manufacture. Custom trips designed in-house for coaches, athletic directors, schools and clubs — with lifelong memories as the point.

More than a tour

Sport is the bridge. It isn't the whole trip.

Four pillars shape every itinerary we build. Take one away and it becomes an ordinary tour — which is exactly what we don't do.

01

Adventure

Hiking, coastlines, kayaks, mountains and long afternoons that end up in the team's group chat for years.

02

Culture

Markets, meals, language and local hosts. Your group meets a place through the people who live there.

03

Education

Global perspective earned in person — history, geography and citizenship learned outside a classroom.

04

Sport

Matches, training sessions and professional fixtures that reveal how the game is played somewhere else.

Compete. Explore. Serve.

Some of the most meaningful moments happen away from the field

Through our connection with the Student Athletes Without Borders Foundation, teams can incorporate locally guided service projects into their international experience — youth clinics, an equipment handover, or work shaped around needs local partners identify themselves. It is optional on every itinerary, and it only goes in when a local partner says it would genuinely help.

Our founder started SAWB, a separate nonprofit, in part to make that possible: finding out what communities actually need, and connecting programs to the local coaches and organizers already doing the work.

Serve local needs

Local leaders name the need first. The project follows their answer.

Build global citizens

Players meet a place through people and work, not just fixtures.

Strengthen your team

Bonding built on doing something together that matters.

Sports team travel

Your sport, somewhere it's played differently

Sports team travel is our primary business. We arrange the games, the training and the professional fixtures — then build the culture around them.

Lifelong memories

Ten days abroad becomes the story your student-athletes tell for the rest of their lives.

Team chemistry

Shared travel builds trust faster than any preseason. Groups return closer, and it shows.

Recruiting and retention

An international trip on the calendar helps you attract quality players and keep them.

Program image

A well-run tour elevates how your program is seen by families, alumni and administration.

Sporting development

Games, training and exposure to different styles of play push players out of familiar patterns.

Study-abroad alternative

For athletes whose seasons make a semester abroad impractical, this is the international experience.

Destination inspiration

Thirty-plus destinations. Combine as many as you like.

Iconic cities get groups excited. The smaller towns and countryside we add alongside them are usually what travelers talk about afterward.

Why ActivSport

Boutique by choice, not by size

We are not a volume tour operator. We take on the groups we can plan properly, and we plan them ourselves.

Custom, designed in-house

Every itinerary is built for your group by our own team. We work directly with destination suppliers instead of handing you to a generic incoming operator.

Authentic local connection

We combine iconic gateway cities with smaller towns and countryside, so your group feels like a temporary local rather than a passenger on a tour bus.

Sports expertise

Games, training sessions, professional fixtures, venues, referees, equipment and local clubs — the sporting side is the part most operators get wrong.

No-surprise pricing

All-inclusive pricing built to your budget. What you see is what you pay.

Logistics handled

Group flights, transfers, hotels, guides, meals, activities and on-the-ground support. Flights and games are our first priority in planning.

Nearly 20 years of experience

Founded in 2006, relaunched as ActivSport Travel in 2019, with a network of clubs, schools and partners built one trip at a time.

How it works

Four steps, and we carry most of the weight

Most organizers have never planned an international trip before. That's normal — and it's our job, not yours.

  1. 01

    Tell us about your group

A short conversation with the coach, teacher, administrator or parent organizing the trip. Goals, timing, group size, travel experience and budget.

  2. 02

    We design your trip

We recommend destinations that actually fit, then build one or two tailored proposals with a day-by-day itinerary and per-person pricing. You give feedback; we refine until it's right.

  3. 03

    Your group registers and prepares

We open registration and handle payments, documents and traveler questions directly, so you're not chasing forms. Fundraising and contribution support is available if you need it.

  4. 04

    Travel and experience it

Group flights, transfers, hotels, guides, matches and activities are locked and staffed. You coach and enjoy the trip; we run the logistics.

Our story

Started in a student residence hall in Lyon

In 2006, while finishing his degree at EM Lyon Business School, founder Jeff Davis launched ProActive Travel from his residence hall. He was a former NCAA scholarship athlete in soccer and basketball, a university team captain and coach in France, and a high-level referee in the Ligue Rhône-Alpes with a working relationship with Olympique Lyonnais.

That network is why American teams started asking for trips. By 2008, educational sports travel was the core business. In 2019 the company relaunched as ActivSport Travel with a sharper focus: fewer trips, planned better.
