College soccer team playing a friendly fixture abroad

Soccer

Play the game where it never stops being the game

Friendlies against local clubs, a professional match on a Saturday night, training on grounds your players have only seen on television — and a country that treats football as a shared language.

Why it matters

Why international travel changes soccer players

American soccer is tactically distinct from what your players will meet abroad. A single week of fixtures against European or South American clubs exposes patterns they cannot practice against at home: tighter spaces, faster decisions, a different relationship to possession and physicality.

The other half is atmosphere. Standing in a stadium where the whole city has arrived early, or watching a youth academy session run in another language, reframes what the sport can mean. Players return more coachable, more curious and noticeably closer as a group.

For coaches, it is also the most persuasive recruiting asset you have. A program with an international trip on the calendar is a program families notice.

What's on the itinerary

What a soccer trip can include

Every itinerary is built from scratch for your group. These are the components we combine most often.

Friendlies against local clubs

Two to four matches against clubs matched to your level, arranged through our own network rather than a booking desk.

Professional fixtures

Tickets to a league match where the calendar allows — the single moment most players talk about afterward.

Training sessions

Sessions on club grounds, sometimes led by or alongside local coaches and academy staff.

Stadium and academy visits

Behind-the-scenes tours and, where possible, time with club staff and youth development programs.

Cultural program

Markets, food, language, history and the small towns and countryside around the gateway city.

Full logistics

Group flights, transfers, hotels, most meals, guides, laundry planning around match days and on-trip support.

Featured destinations

Where soccer groups travel

Every destination below has professional leagues, deep club networks and a football culture worth traveling for. Most groups combine two.

Sample experience concept

Ten days in Spain: Barcelona, Girona and the Costa Brava

An illustrative concept for a college or club side traveling in spring — two friendlies, one professional match, and a week that isn't spent on a bus.

  1. Days 1–3

    Barcelona

Arrive, shake out the legs, first friendly against a Catalan club. Gothic Quarter on foot, market lunch, stadium visit.

  2. Days 4–5

    Match weekend

Training session in the morning, professional league fixture in the evening. Free afternoon along the beach.

  3. Days 6–8

    Girona & Costa Brava

Second friendly inland, then two nights on a quieter coast — sea kayaking, a cooking session, no itinerary pressure.

  4. Days 9–10

    Culture & return

Day trip to a hill town, team dinner, closing reflection with staff, morning flight home.

An illustrative concept only — not a fixed product. Your actual itinerary, fixtures and pricing are built around your group’s goals, level and budget.

Why ActivSport

Why soccer programs work with us

Sports team travel is our primary business, not a side product. We plan it in-house, and a real planner reads and answers every inquiry.

Fixtures we actually control

Opponents are arranged through relationships we've built since 2006, not brokered blindly. We match level honestly.

Match-day logistics

Kit, water, medical access, pitch times, referees, transport windows and recovery are planned around the games, not after them.

Beyond the big four cities

We pair Barcelona or London with a smaller club town — where the hospitality is warmer and the football is just as real.

Priced to the roster

All-inclusive pricing per traveler with inclusions itemized, plus in-house fundraising support if the group needs it.
